  1. I can't quit. Karate means good work. I refuse to do bad work.

More so it means good way. Why go the other than good way?

  2. I trained in Taekwondo for 10 years, but I left it to pursue other intrests. It's been over 15 years since I've trained, but the lesson I've learned about respect and self control have remained with me.

  3. I never really "quit" karate -- I just consider it taking breaks from training at a dojo, as far as physical karate, goes.

The mental stuff, however (being aware of my surroundings, being respectufl, etc) is karate I'll be able to practice for the rest of my life

  4. Other commitments. I never really wanted to be a martial artist. I only had one ambition: to play football. The karate was only for self-defence.

  5. I would never quit karate. However there was this guy at my old club who was a pr**k to me so i moved clubs. but otherwise i love it! dont quit!! x

  6. Well i was in karate for two years on and off. Honesly i quit because i was involved in another sport and kinda got tired of it.  It's not a sport for everyone, i guess soccer took over and i was better at it aswell.

  7. Learned the basics then went to boxing. Wrestled in high school, then got into jj for a while! Learned what I wanted to learn, now I use it when I need it!

  8. Lack of money.

Other commitments (paying the rent, finding a job, supporting a sick relative, girl-friends, joining the military, etc. etc.).

  9. I havent completely quit, but now i only do 8 hours  a week rather than the 13 hrs i used to do. This is because my knee joints have become partially unjointed which means i have to slow down or else i will not be able to walk by the time i am 20. I am 14 by the way

  10. Well I was in Karate for 5 years and I moved away and found Muay Thai !

Karate was a good Art for me at that time but now I'm much happier that I have found Muay Thai :)

I've been in Martial Arts for 9 years and Muay Thai is my favourite Art by far !

  11. I quit because I was also playing guitar and every time I punched a hard surface my tendons would swell and leave my fingers with less flexibility which is needed to effectively play the guitar. I made the choice of mastering the musical instrument; I use martial arts for defence only and I practice Katas only; if I do strike in self defense I use palm strikes and they are quite effective.
