If our son was in a fight with a bully, do you tell him to run away?

Well, no one is offering surrender as a policy initiative....so your question is moot.

However, yes, in most circumstances it is better to talk your problems out than to harm others unnecessarily. As most generals and leaders have noted....there needs to be a political initiative....not further military conflict. The military will need to stay on the ground until the political situation is under control...which could be years regardless of president. However, until there is an Iraqi government that is both representative and acting in a way that gains the respect of the Iraqi people, all the fighting and bloodshed in the world will do nothing to 'fix' the problem. Just as beating up the bully won't solve the problem...it just makes you the new school bully....and makes you more enemies.

My son wouldn't get into a fight with a bully, because he would know better than to engage in a fight. He would be smart enough to avoid one, and realize that there are better solutions to problems than to get into a fight.

Surrender to whom?  Some barbarians in a cave in Afghanistan?  Some Arabs whose country we invaded under false pretenses?  Give me a break. I am a right-winger of the Super Nationalist stripe but there is no War on Terror(Who the **** really believes that a war can be fought against a Noun???), what there factual is, is nothing more than a War for Crony Profits.

I love my country and I love our freedom. Slowly our freedom is being taken from us, our economy is changing and our dollar is not as valuable as it once was and prices from milk to gas are going up. Some blame the war. Some blame our governments leaders. In my opinion this is all unraveling just like in Revelations in the Holy Bible.  This thing is going to get worse, it will get bigger, more countries will be involved and there will be no end until our mighty God ends it. I believe George Bush is NOT a good man. I don't think he should have been our president But none of my opinions or words REALLY matter. So I try to live my life.  Thats why we are here.  I don't live in fear.  For our nation as a whole, I believe that if we did completely pull out of our wars that would not be a surrender.  I believe that if we did though things would not get better. I believe that would open a doorway and leave it unlocked as a weakness for our fortress.  It would not be wise.  So I don't think this is a Surrender kind of war.  So about the bully thing, If you do give in to fight, then FIGHT

How would we be surrendering? The Iraqis never did anything to us! Saddam Hussein never was a threat! The people that attacked us were aligned with Osama bin Laden in the hills of Afghanistan.
