  1. bad service equals no tip and tell the manager that you have a bad waiter. But sometimes if you see they try but see that they really hate they job give a small tip.

  2. ok the simple truth is that servers get paid $2.13 an hour. servers cannot control how fast the food is served, that is the chefs responsibility. if it was busy when you went then give them some slack, they probably have people running them around like dogs every time they go to the table which prevents them from being able to help you as sufficiently. if they were rude, that is a completely different story, if they were rude, do not feel obligated to leave a tip. leave no tip and report it to the manager if possible, if not, more than likely they have a website and send them a complaint.

  3. I agree with Whitney. Many things that are considered "bad service" are out of the server's hands. Not only do servers only make $2.13 an hour they are also taxed on their sales and many times have to pay a percentage of their sales back to the restaurant for tip out (goes to bussers,bartenders,hostesses,etc.). I would never leave less than 10% unless the server was just flat out rude. The standard tip is 15% - I always leave at least 20% to a good server.

  4. Bad service, I give benefit of the doubt and leave small tip, rude service, no tip.

  5. jus leave

  6. no tip, and tell them they were rude.

  7. I usually will give small tips........ dont bother to give much because they dont deserve for good tips.

bad service means bad tips... fair enough, isn't it?

    hehe

  8. less than expected service gets a less than expected tip.  Lack of service at all, gets a lack of any tip.  A tip is your choice and your generosity and I feel should be at your discretion.

  9. no tip

  10. I am a server and I have to say that this server treated you badly. Sure, it's nice when friends come in, but it is not okay to neglect your other guests.

I will run this by you, though.....we generally tip out a busser, a bartender, a hostess, and expeditor (sometimes even the kitchen!) so if you feel that other support staff in the restaurant were gracious and helpful, you can either tip them directly, as you did, or leave at least enough to cover the server's tipout on your bill---otherwise it ends up actually costing the server money to wait on you.

The server who ignored you in favor of her friends, though? Stiff her...a server should NEVER be rude. Servers, be nice to your guests--those people are paying your bills. If you don't like serving, get into another business.

  11. Here it goes who said that u have 2 leave a tip, It's optional people! tip according to your service if I get excellant service I leave an above adverage tip if it was horrible  service well I leave a penny or 2 don't ever leave nothing the server may just think that u forgot the tip u want to let them know that it was not good service.  A server works a job and their attitude determines part of their pay why should someone get paid for a bad job. Any other job u might have is the same way if u don't do it right without attitude u get fired not just a decrease in tip.

  12. small tip i always give a tip even if its one penny.

  13. For bad service, small tip.  Rude service, no tip.  But I think it is also important to leave a good tip for good service, and if the service is great, take the time to tell the manager.

  14. if it was just the service  not a nickel
