I registered for nursing courses a little early, but Im not yet in the program. The counselor told me to drop them. I plan on starting the actual program next semester.I do think I can handle the courses but if I don't drop the courses will they count towards the program degree or prevent me from getting in?

  1. If you're not admitted to the program it's possible those major classes wont count if you enroll in them, which is why you were advised to drop it.  If you do not have the prereqs or credentials, you can also be administratively dropped from the class.  Further, iIf you are administratively dropped it probably wont happen until well after the regular add/drop period, so you'll be a class short s******g up your graduation schedule, affecting financial aid, etc.  Don't test this issue -- just drop the courses on your own and find something else to take.

  2. they will kick you out of the class if you sign up for a class that you need approval for & didnt get it!!!

  3. You should drop them, as you don't have approval to take them.  You will probably get booted out because of that and waste your tuition and fees.

Programs that require departmental approval are slotted for those students already in the program and there isn't usually room for unapproved others.

Some professors might resent your arrogance and insure that you do not get in your program when you apply for it.
