  1. Heh....well I mean you can always petition all you want, it doesn't necessarily mean they will listen to you. Cable/satellite providers have to look at the whole picture. They won't add a channel that 300 people in the US are going to watch, while the other 226 million won't. It's not cost effective for them. If it's going to be a popular channel, let's say NFL network for some Cable providers...(how it's not already added boggles me) That might have a higher chance then the "Arts & Crafts Channel".

  2. Generally it is a game of numbers.  Most cable providers track these types of things to determine customer demand.  If enough people request the channel then most likely they will try to offer it, however if one person requests it more than once that won't do any good....so forget about calling them every day until they add it, because the only thing you will do is upset them even more.

Even if demand is there for a particular channel it doesn't mean they will add it either.  Sometimes channels can only be added in packages, so if they are required to add four channels to get the one they want, it might not make financial sense to do so.

Also, most cable systems have limited capacity, so in some cases adding one channel means they have to drop another one.  Obviously that can upset customers that like the old channel, so it is really a matter of determining which channel is desired more and which will benefit the most customers.

    Best of luck!
