If you rest you rust?

Rust is also referred to as Oxidation, which happens to the likes of stagnant scrap steel lying around (resting). Oxygen is consumed when we are active as it's used up in the process of energy utilisation. Therefore if you rest, you don't burn energy, you don't use up the oxygen you've consumed, and you rust !!

well, rust is metaphorical not literal in that sense. if you rest, you are not active and the effect of inactivity would be diminishing skills, talents, activity in whatever you do. If you are a pastor and then you sit relaxed, no practice, you'll begin forgetting your favorite relevant verses. You are active as a brilliant  student then you get a break of two years from school, you'll forget even the simple things you used to know ie, you rest, you rust. more or less like practice makes perfect idea
