(hint: you will need to solve for the time you are running using the formula t=d/S)

  1. The easy answer is t=d/s, so 2.5 hours, or 2 hours and 30 minutes.

But as Dennis said, you can not do it.  I can't imagine a normal person running at 10mph for 2 hours and 30 minutes.  Even marathon runners don't do this speed.

  2. 2 1/2 hours

  3. Simply divide

    25/10

and your answer is 2.5 hours.

BTW, I am just wondering ... if you can give a hint as to what formula is to be used, then why can you not substitute the appropriate values yourself?

  4. Long enough to need a ambulance.

  5. The trick here is mph is miles per hour. The word "per" means divide. Knowing this you have speed S=D/T which means speed = miles / hour.  Of course your unknown is time which you derive by multiplying both sides by T then dividing both sides by S giving you the hint t=d/s.

    just remenber "per" is divide

and by the way "of" means multiply (1/2 of 10) is the same as 1/2 x 10

  6. t =d/S = 25miles/10mph = 2.5 hours

  7. 2.5 hours
