  1. Physically no.  Our bodies need rest. The good things I do in addition to running (get a haircut/ spend quality time with my fiance'/ relax and meditate) serve to improve my self-confidence and makes me a better endurance runner.

I hope I understand your question right. I just like to help others become good runners. It helps me too.

  2. If you run for an hour and do nothing for the rest of the day, your endurance won't be affected because in a sense you are simply resting, but by doing nothing for the day, you are more likely to eat, since the running burns up alot of your stored carbs, and that only negatively affects the fact that you ran. So, if you are going to run for an hour, then do nothing for the rest of the day, atleast make sure you stretch immediatly after running to avoid lactic acid buildup ( which makes you feel sore the day after) and avoid eating something thats bad for you, or eating something in excess. Every time you run, your heart is working harder than it does any other time of the day. You build endurance by running longer and longer day by day. The thing that will hurt your endurance though is running for so long that you are sore the next day or two and then you don't run those days.

  3. no. you average 3 miles per hour when you run. a typical worker in a fast food joint walks about 6 miles per 8 hour shift. so you are accomplishing about 4 hours worth of regular work. good job! any exercise is better than none.-blurey

  4. no, because you already burned all the calories you needed to burn, also you built muscle.

You would only defeat the purpose of running, if you go home and eat 2 pounds of ice cream.

    --good luck

  5. Yeah the running is great- but if you sit and do nothing for the rest of the day it was pointless running in the first place.

  6. Not at all. As long as you don't eat junk food all day or dehydrate yourself with TONS of soda and chips it doesnt matter if you sit around. Your body needs rest. I actually recomend it after hard runs.
