ie aerial fitter, electrician, plumber, decorator etc, what would you type in your search? And would you type in an area, postcode or town name for your area?

  1. Most people type in a city name then the service so for example "Leeds flower shop". I run a business online and years of stats from my site show 80% of people just type the city name then service.

Nobody does postcodes and few add things like south, north etc. I assume you're looking at adwords or something, well you can't go wrong if you follow what i say above, it's got me to number one!

  2. If there is a trade body for that trade then they are likely to have a directory and a number I have seen have a search facility (albeit not always accurate) that gives you traders within x miles of your address.

  3. On yell.com I would type "plumber" then "postcode"

    Just the first 3 letters

  4. I personally use google to search for everything. If you type in for example  plumber leeds, as well as finding plumbers in Leeds, you will get search sites in your google results. I did that one time for a business I was looking for, and in the google results I got gumtree. If you check out gumtree, they search for whatever you are looking for in any given area. I found what I was looking for with gumtree too. I hope that site can help you too.

  5. what a silly question

  6. Go to YELL. COM its all in there.

You can print out all your local tradesmen a trade at a time.
