If you shave your head does it grow back differently?

I have heard from friends that after shaving your head hair sometimes grows back softer, darker, lighter, even curlier, ect. Is this true? and if so why?

it will grow back the same, it may grown back in better condition because it has not been subjected to frequent styling and/or over use of hair products. so it will be the best version of your natural hair condition.

yes, my friend had cancer and lost his hair which was dark brown and straight. as it grew back it became lighter and verrrry curly. i guess it just depends on the person and the lightness of his hair could have been from his illness. Idk.

i have heard  that it is true! and it is true i have 2 proves!my granfather when he was young he had light brown hair and then his mother shaved his hair and it became dark brown... i know a woman u had kemo and her hair falled down all and it was curly her hair and now her hair has grown  and her hair is now even more curlier and more healthy and soft! (sry for bad english)

this is because (you knowthey say that if you trim your hair it will become more healthy) now if you shave your hair really short your hair will grow more stronger  for sure ... but maybe not for everyone his hair will become softer and darker or lighter

I was in the hospital last summer and I lost over half of my hair and it grew back and I waited till it got to be about 4 inches all over and had it cut the same length and I be doggone if it didn't grow back curly!! All my life my sister's were envious of me because I didn't have the curls they did but when it grew back curly I asked them How do I take care of it?? It was the same color though

Actually, if they had damaged hair before shaving, it probably would be softer after growing back.

It grows back the same as it was before.  I was hoping it would help cowlicks grow out, but it doesn't.
