If you sold a car trailer for someone and they wanted $5,000 but you sold it for $6,000, how much commission?

you should have stated what % u wanted up front in writing. you definitely got screwed. but did you kick out any of your money to sell this thing? if not its $100 bucks xtra 4 u anyway. so just go buy a six pack, relax and 4gettaboutit

i would have kept the extra $1000 and said i only got $5000...

Typically when selling something for another person, the owner will specify up front how much they want to get for it. If you get more than their asking price, I would think you get to keep the extra...or maybe split the extra 50/50. I would think sales commission would normally be 5-10% or more. That's $300-600.

You should have gotten the commission rate decided upon before the sale. How much did they say you would receive for helping sell it?
