it says to stay on Induction Period for 2 weeks and then allow yourself a little more carbs, but I was wondering that if you stayed on the Induction Period would you keep losing weight at a faster pace?

  1. you might lose more weight, but once you start eating more carbs you'd gain some weight back.

i don't think the atkins diet is that good. its way too much meat.

  2. There is no quick fix to weight loss, and losing quicker just means that it comes back more quickly.  Slower and in a healthy way is much more likely to work in the long term.  And you don't need a special program.  There are some common sense things that work very well.  In fact, they are the only things that really do work in the long term.

Keeping a food journal really does help.  It will give you a much better sense of how much you are eating, and when, and why.

Make a few small changes - walk everywhere, always use stairs instead of elevators, walk on escalators, get up and move around at least once an hour if your work or your life in general is sedentary, walk every day, use a pedometer. Walking 10,000 steps a day is a really good idea. Build up to a long brisk walk everyday, or most days.  Be more active and watch less TV and spend less time on the computer.

Start a weight lifting routine. It will help increase your metabolism and make you feel and look better in so many ways. Join a gym. Possibly you can find one that has someone who specializes in weight lifting programs for beginners. Weight lifting will increase your metabolism as well as improve posture and appearance overall.

In terms of diet, cut out or reduce things like junk food, pop, fat, fast food. Eat more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean meat, fish.   Particularly if you choose a vegetarian lifestyle include natural peanut butter, hummus, dried fruit and nuts.  Pay close attention to getting the nutrients your body needs to be healthy.  Drink plenty of water, at least 8 big glasses a day, and more if it is very hot, it you sweat a lot, or if you are exercising intensely. You will begin to see changes in your body.

  3. The atkins diet is not a HEALTHY diet, it may help you lose weight quickly but you will be maybe less healthy than you were before you started the diet, i would only do the diet for a month and then eat salads, exercise regularly, Never skip out on a meal and eat snacks.

Your  metabolism is like a fire, don't throw a big log on it and expect it to burn it off easy, use little twigs, that means you should eat smaller meals more regularly to keep it working easier.
