If you steal the seeds of a tomato from the supermarket, will it grow and bear fruit?

Considering that you'll not be caught it will grow if you let it grow. Scientifically all seeds are capable of growing into a mature plant given that all the environmental factors are favorable. If the seeds are mature there is no reason why it won't grow.

I know if you put apple seeds folded into a paper towel, and keep it damp and in the sun it will grow a root, though it is tricky to plant it without killing it, I would imagine you can do the same with a tomato seed- I know you can't just stick it into some dirt and make it grow
