meat and dairy doesn't have much of anything other than hormones, fats,  protein (from fats).

no, dairy or meat isn't a iron NOR a protein  giant.

you'll lose weight from not eating dairy...    and dropping the processed foods.

  3. nope I went cold turkey about a yr ago and am still going strong. I wasnt really a big meat eater to begin with so i may have had an advantage but if the will is there then you shouldnt have any problems.

    good luck!

  4. well my doctor said you don't need meat but you have to eat fruit and vegetables  if your going to be a vegetarian.

also your not a vegetarian if your not going to eat meat for some days or Weeks .

and yes your going to loose wait if you don eat anything that dosent have  to much fat in it also your going to need  vitamin.

  5. No, and no, unless you specifically try to make your diet more healthy. Vegetarianism is not drastically healthier than eating meat.

  6. yes you may lose some weight plus your immune system will not be as strong due to the lack of red meat

  7. no...it's not like a phase it out thing. you can also get vitamin supplements and stuff if you get sick.

  8. No, I became a vegetarian in the space of an hour spent reading a book about it, and had no adverse symptoms.  I just stopped eating dead animals, that's all.

Vegetarianism is not a weight loss plan.  You can gain or lose weight on any eating plan depending on how many calories you consume versus how many calories you burn.  Three pounds is nothing.  Creat a deficit of 500 calories per day, either by eating less, exercising more, or both.  That will result in a weight loss of a pound a week.  Voila, three weeks later, you've lost your three pounds.

  9. No, I went vegan cold turkey with no problem.   However, a couple of months later I went senile and ordered vegetarian lasagne without thinking.  When it landed in front of me it was full of cheese.   I felt guilty to send it back so I ate about a third of it.   My stomach was sick for hours afterwards.   It wasn't used to dairy anymore.

  10. nope...its actually a healthy lifestyle choice

  11. Eating meat was making me sick; my digestive system no longer could handle it.

Eat a balanced, sensible diet, and you will be fine.

As for losing weight, three pounds is nothing; your weight fluctuates over the period of a month by about that much!  Eat fewer calories than you burn, and you'll probably lose some weight.

  12. When i first became a vegetarian i must have visited my doctor at least 4 times within the first month. I just quit and didn't really know what to eat and where to get my nutrients. But now im much more healthier and havent been ill since (apart from a few colds)

If you eat healthily and excersise those few pounds will come right off :)
