  1. I agree with Andy (if he didn't use capitals). I've been a registered organ donor since I was 18, yet my relatives can say no to any of this once I'm dead. It just seems incredibly ridiculous, as once the person has just died the relatives are not really in a fit state to decide about that at the time.

I think the current system is fine, it just needs a bit more encouragement.

  2. I'm a supporter of organ donation. I think it should be automatic, but that people should be allowed to opt out if they so selfishly choose to.

  3. Yes!I agree with organ donation!I agree with an opt out clause!!

  4. Yes and yes!

  5. I am on the organ register and will donate my organs if I can when I die, but I think it's wrong to label people selfish if they choose not to do this, it should be entirely personal choice. I disagree with the proposed opt out scheme, and think the answer lies in raising awareness so the public can make an informed choice.

To say that it should be compulsory so vehemently, seems extreme to me; by that standard then should we Have to donate our extra kidney or lung if we're healthily enough? seems absurd.

  6. HELLO

THE STUPID PART IS THAT YOU USED TO GO AND REGISTER AS AN ORGAN DONOR WHILST OVER 18 YEARS OF AGE, YET THEY HAVE TO CHECK WITH NEXT OF KIN IF THIS BECOMES NECESSARY.

WHAT WAS THE POINT OF ME CARRYING A DONOR CARD

  7. I think presumed consent is a better way around and I am totally for it. I'm a member of the Organ Donation scheme myself, actually

  8. I am not familiar with what has been proposed in the UK.  I am not a fan of organ transplants.  Everyone I know who has received a transplanted organ never regained anything I would call good health.  Because the anti rejection drugs weakened their immune systems they were always getting sick and being admitted to the hospital.  None of them had enough energy to do much and they were always tired and out of breath.  I wouldn't want to live like that and I won't be part of letting anyone else live that way.

  9. How could anyone not support organ donation? How could anyone prefer to leave their organs to the worms than in a human that lives a life of suffering?

If I had my way it would be compulsary.

  10. How anyone can support the taking of a dead persons organs without them carrying a donor card is disgusting, and while they are at it they can also take the pennies off their eyes.

Even if one of my family does carry a donor card and a doctor removed one of their organs without my consent THERE WOULD BE TROUBLE.

Nobody has the right to interfere and remove a dead persons body parts, what next, soldiers being used as walking spare parts.

And for organ donation, only after clear and written permission from the deceased and close relatives.
