If you take ambien and crush it up then mix it in water and drink the water is it still effective?

If you're talking about Ambien CR, which is what most docs are prescribing now,  it's not only a bad idea, but could be deadly!  "CR" means Controlled Release. This means it's made so it absorbs in a certain time frame.  If you crush them up, you're putting all that medicine in your system all at once.  Ambien overdoses depress the central nervous system, eventually causing you to quit breathing & DIE!

Also, you should NEVER take 4 Ambiens at once.  Ambien (according to their website) come in 5mg & 10mg dosages.  Even if you take 4 5mg tabs, you're overdosing & can cause severe CNS depression.

So, the answer to your question, yes it is still effective, but not reccommended as you can DIE!

You shouldn't crush it up, and you shouldn't be taking that many of them, that is a toxic does even if the pills are 2.5 mg.

They are tiny little pills, why would you need to crush them in the first place.....
