  1. tax is no prob as long as it's in date in the uk, just inform insurance company of your plan's all should be ok

  2. you can , you have to see your insurance co; as long as you are taxed it is fine

you will have to get your headlight's altered for the other side of the road

  3. I travel in Europe all the time, it is fine as long as you have a current tax disc in an EU nation. So you only need Spanish tax when the UK tax runs out. It does nark me when I go to Austria (not in the EU) and have to pay a month's tax for the sake of a single day. But I never paid any yet in France, Spain, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany etc.

  4. I dont know about taxes

About Insurance youn have to have International insurance,

so if you have an accident your insurance will cover you. Your agent is suppossed to give you all papers. I drove from Spain to France & Germany and this were the requirements

  5. You make sure your car is taxed and insured before you go.

  6. Errr I think you will find Austria is in the EU, my old lorry driver.

  7. Hello

I worked for an insurance company back in the UK and all she needs to do is call her insurance company and tell them she is taking the car out the country for 3 months and they will issue her with a GREEN CARD (they may charge her a small amount) this allows her to drive abroad on her insurance. She doesn`t need to tell the DVLA and she wont need to pay tax in spain as the car is taxed in the UK.

    I hope this helps.

  8. Tell your insurance & you will be covered, you may or may not have to pay a small excess.Leave your English tax disc  as long as it is in date you are o.k.

  9. I lived on costa del sol for three years, if only going for 3 months, then english tax gets you by, and insurance too, but you have to ask them for a green card to drive in spain. if any longer than, there are spanish insurance companys that deal with ex pats, like ex pat insurance co. if your mot runs out, then you can get a tourist mot which lasts 3 months, to get spanish tax, you have to import your car and get headlights changed etc, spanish tax is only 59 euros a year, well ours was anyway, to import an english car is expensive, so better off buying a spanish car, a neighbour of ours just used to go to uk once a year and tax and mot his car, it got him by
