If you tell theBoss something another is doing at work...Will the boss?

tell that other person????? (and then a big argument starts!!) I thought they were not ALLOWED TO TELL...the boss should just watch and see if it were true.

  1. Well it sounds like your boss doesnt know how to work out things without making a confrontation about things. And that is wrong. Maybe that is just me but if someone says something to you in confidence at work about another then the boss should just watch and see if it is true, and if it is then take the right percautions for that situation.


  2. Sounds like you learn a lesson.  Next time you will know better.

  3. A good boss would keep such disclosures confidential.  Unfortunately there are more bad bosses than good bosses in the world and you should gauge them carefully based on past behavior.

    If others trust that person and if he/she seems to respect the employees then maybe you have a good shot.

    Also, the situation/report may require that the other person be informed, but usually not without telling you that information first.

    I'd say, "I have something important to tell you, but its important to me and for the peace of the office/workplace that you keep it between you and me."

    Hopefully your issue is something that is important enough to concern the boss and not just trivial gossip or complaining.
