  1. I will take a guess and say 200,000 miles

  2. Well the shortest way is around the world from the North pole to the South Pole and back up the other side of the world. A little less than 25000 miles.

Not very practical though, lots of ice and water in the way.

Travel round the equator is slightly further at close to 25000 miles. This is because the earth is not a true sphere.

The shortest realistic route ,by air, using the new Airbus A.380 might be, Los Angeles, Dakar, Singapore and back to Los Angeles.

You can work out the exact distance for yourself.

  3. That question cannot be answered unless you specify the route taken to go round the earth.    If the route follows the equator, it is almost 25,000 miles, but if the route follows the Arctic circle, the distance is less than half of the equatorial

distance.    You can start and finish at any spot on the earth.

  4. To be exact: 24,901.5 miles.

This is the length of the Earth's equator, the longest straight-path that one could take to travel around the world.
