  1. It doesn't make your hair grow longer, it makes it grow faster because all of the split ends slow down the growth of your hair. So when you get them trimmed off, your hair keeps growing at it's normal speed.

  2. The below answer is correct as far as removing split ends. In some cases the hair will split a good distance up the hair shaft, sometimes at a rate greater than growth. It depends on the individuals hair type and the health of the hair. Hair is not alive so when health is reffered to it generally means the condition. Think about what happens to a pair of jeans that have been cut into shorts. As normal wear and tear progresses and you wash and dry them, they fray at the ends and get shorter. This occurs more rapidly as time goes by. If you trim just above the frayed ends occasionally you increase the life of the cutoff shorts. Hope that helps.

  3. Hair doesn't, male or female, grow longer if you trim. It grows from hair follicles, which are under the scalp skin, not the ends. It's just an urban legend that it grows longer if trimmed.

However, regular trims can protect hair if you have split ends so that the split doesn't travel up the hair and tear it. In that case, it would prevent hair from breaking off, thus keeping it longer, but not make it actually grow longer. Hair growth rate is determined genetically.

  4. It dosen't..It allows your hair to grow better..It get's rid of split ends, Which when you have split ends, The split goes up the strand resulting in breakage...

Yep...Your real hair breaks off from hair growing from your head.
