  1. First of all, if you have to turn a speaker up that loud, you are an idiot.  Secondly, when have you ever known a smokey smell to be good when it comes from an electrical component?

  2. You have overheated the voice coil of the driver(s).

Continue to do that...and you will burn the voice coil(s) and the speaker will no longer work correctly.

At one point, the coil(s) will begin to produce a 'scratch' while in motion to reproduce sound.

  3. it means it is running hot.  which it can do for a while but in the long run it will be ruined

  4. uhm id get that checked out just incase:)

  5. You might blow the speaker, i.e. ruin it.

  6. Pretty well ANYtime you smell something burning there is a problem.  Your wires are probably to small for the current being sent through them from your amp.  You might want to try lower guage wires.  Lower guage means larger.  You might be using like #18 speaker wire.  Get some #12 stranded and see what happens.

  7. are u kidding me. how loud do you listen to music and for how long. dont worry about the speaker smoke. have the smoke in your head checked first.

    turn it down, dude.
