  1. It's not a good idea to do that, but it will cause no damage to most TVs.  The only kind of TV that will have a problem with being unplugged while it is still on is one with a projector bulb inside, or a front-projector.  Those bulbs have cooling fans which stay on after the set has been turned off normally.  If the set is unplugged, the fan stops and the bulb will overhea and may be destroyed.  Since some bulbs can cost several hundred dollars, it is a good idea to have a battery-backup power supply on such a TV so if the power goes off while you are watching, you can shut if off normally.

  3. No but you're going to loose all your preprogramed settings like the clock and perhaps channel presets.
