If you type "www.yahoo.com" in a country outside of the US, does it get directed to that country's Yahoo! page or does it go to the US's page?

For example, if you live in Australia, do you have to type "au.yahoo.com" to get to Australia's Yahoo! page or do you get to Australia's page by simply typing, "www.yahoo.com" while in Australia? Do I have to type, "au.yahoo.com" because I'm not in Australia?

Thanks for helping me understand!

  1. you simply type yahoo and then press control plus enter, you don't even have to type .com.

Yahoo takes a look at your IP, and automatically redirects you to your country's home yahoo page. :)

  2. They have automatic DNS redirection.

AKADNS redirects you to their nearest server or to your local website.
