  1. Yup, sure would - otherwise known as hydric acid of course :)

    Mark

ps: And still some daft bint of a "professor" was prattling on about CO2 emissions from burning hydrogen. Bless

  2. Ha-ha. The other byproduct of hydrogen combustion is heat.

    2H2 + O2 → 2H2O + heat

  3. You mean H20 or water?

  4. Yes, as long as you don't count the bi-products from extracting the hydrogen in the first place.  That's the catch.

  5. Yes, wise guy.....there's another name for dyhydrogen monoxide....water vapor......very funny.

Oh, and nice Avatar....wait 'til next year....again.

  6. No, though it (water) will be the primary combustion product.  Hydrogen flames do, however, burn very hot.  Thus, if air is used as the source of oxygen, some of the nitrogen in the air will be oxidized as well forming nitrogen oxides (NOx), which are major green house gases.

  7. Dihydrogen Monoxide is a Very Dangerous Substance!!!!

If large enough quantities are spilled out of Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicles, then the roads can become very slippery. In some areas safety signs are already posted with this advisory. Sadly this toxin has already proven deadly to small children who have been left unattended it it's presence. In China, they have long used it as a body cleaning agent, and recently (relatively) they have exported this dangerous practice to Europeans & the World!

For more ceribrial perspectives on this stuff, here are some links to the Material Safety Data Sheet for DHMO & also an organization trying to get this horrible stuff banned!

Please keep yourself safe and use the utmost of precaution when ever you must handle this substance!  Have fun & Good Luck!

  8. Yes and if you put a catch reservoir on your exhaust pipe with platinum electrodes in it you can split the water back into hydrogen and oxygen and recycle that through the engine again and again.
