Others have shown their cards, and you are not trying to win, just tie with the others. The debate is that you would have to show your cards to take any of the pot.

  1. yes you are supose to show your cards, more than likely if you play the board, the best you could do is have a chopped pot ..because the otheres will be playing the same , unless they have something in there hand

  2. The only time you have to show cards is if it goes all the way to a showdown. (i.e. after the river, and more than one person is still in the hand) or a call on an all-in bet (which would also go to a showdown ).  if you muck your hand you are folding (thus cannot win any of the pot) but no one will see your cards and no the dealer will not show your cards if someone asks.

  3. If its a split pot because the board beats all the players still in the hand, whats it matter?. If its not a split, of course.

  4. If you make a bet, or you go all-in, anyone who calls you can ask to see your cards when the hand is over. You are required to show them.(only if they ask) At a casino the dealer will flip your cards if someone(that was in the hand) wants to see them even if you have mucked them already.
