If you used catnip for an insecticide against mosquitoes and cockroaches would cats attack you?

I read that they are seeking a patent to use it as an insecticide.

Yes that might be a serious problem for some "cat people".  Catnip drives cats crazy or at least puts them in a tizzy.  They jump on it and roll around on it, apparently getting "high".  (who knows what goes through a cat's mind, however, one stole my sunglasses and made off with my Jimmy Olson action figure and neither one has ever been seen or heard from since.   Does catnip oil kill insects?  I doubt if it would keep cats away.  Good think I am a dog.
