*If you visited England on a Visa, would health care still be free despite the fact that you don't pay taxes?

Also, are there orthodontists over there? I know that you don't think of teeth as something cosmetic, so you don't emphisis on their perfection like America does. However, do you still have them for people with teeth that are extremely bad?

Also, would a UK size 8 be considered Small, Medium, or Large? Is there a certain size that men prefer in England? (Like how the American media likes size US 0, but the men usually prefer US 6-14.)

And I'm not knocking you for bad teeth with the orthodontist question, you should see mine! (Despite that I have braces.)

Thanks! =]

  1. No, you have to pay for your health care yourself.

You pay for any cosmetic work, even teeth.

    Small.

Men like all sizes everywhere.  No different there.

  2. Mostly as above, but I have had throat cancer, and voice box removal, plus stoma [neckbreather] and the radiation got my teeth. That said and with an NHS dentist,I still had to pay,so thats how it is.Only those on certain benefits don't pay.

I like any shape as long as there happy.

  3. I don't know where these guys saying you will need to pay for everything comes from, but it sure as h**l isn't the country you're asking about.

Emergency care is completely free to everyone, Visa and foreign passport included. If you are in an accident, you will be taken to a hospital, treated and looked after until such time as you can be discharged without so much as spending a penny.

If, however, you want any non emergency treatment, you will have to pay for it same as you do in the US.

You will, almost certainly, have to pay full costs for any dental treatment since finding a dentist who works within the NHS is about as rare as hens teeth.

UK size six is the same as US size zero, which unless you are naturally small and slim is a tad unhealthy. However, I'd say that most men in the UK, if pushed on the issue, will say that they'd prefer women sizes ten to fourteen UK. And you will always be able to find someone who thinks whatever size you are is perfect. My mate likes little skinny women, sizes six and eight for him.  I like women with shape and a little padding.

  4. What the h**l?? Of course we have orthodontists! We have orthodontists, specialist teeth cleaning places, not to mention dentists offering more than usual treatment- you're going too much on a stereotype. The way our teeth look are just as important to us as they are to you. That's pretty insulting. We have whole TV shows dedicated to people making their teeth look nice, and showing surgery you can have to make them look perfect.

Your healthcare wouldn't be free on a visa and no taxes. Sorry to break it to you - but it's not even free for us that DO pay taxes. We have to pay for everything on top of taxes unless we get a serious illness like cancer.

Size UK 8 would be considered small. Men are just like YOUR men, they like all shapes and sizes. Some like skinny, some like slim, some like average and some prefer larger women.

We have less crime than you do in the USA - but it's still h**l of alot. The only places you really need to look out for are our counsel estates - areas of sub standard housing where chavs live xD

  5. one can get excellent medical care if taken ill in the UK.. Just go to the nearest hospital's A&E (their ER) and, yes, you will be billed for their services.  However, if you have a health insurance plan in the States, it is likely that they will reimburse you - check with them. (My son is a physician in London and I know for a fact that the physicians and nurses are wonderful!)  And, yes, there are orthodontists there, as well - you will be charged for their services also. As to their size scale, I do know that a 36 shoe is about a 5-1/2 or 6, and on up, and I believe their clothing sizes run a size larger than ours.  Enjoy your trip - it's marvelous there!
