  1. The more time you spend there, getting to know people & what they do, the more you understand what it would be like to work there. I think it is a good, low risk way to investigate the hospital work environment.


  2. Reading to children is only one minuscule part of what goes on in a hospital.  You'd have to experience working in other areas of service to see if you would really love working in that setting.

    There are other areas where volunteers are needed...explore those also!

  3. Seems to me a good starting point. You might find other things from it that you like better, like library work. Look if it sounds like fun and no one can get hurt its probably worth a go.

    What you are thinking of doing

    (a) sounds like fun

    (b) will benefit the children

    (c) might give you insight into tour career preferences

    Seems to me that life is a very temporary thing, you may as well enjoy it instead of weighing up every little option. Go for it have fun and good things will be attracted to you. You won't find it, the right answer will find you while you are having fun.
