  1. I am a professional geologist and for A levels I studied Geology. Zoology and Botany, but that was many years ago.

  2. Yes a good passing grade is required.  Especially chemistry.

  3. I graduated from Southampton in 1999 and studied Geology. My A Levels were Biology, Geography and Geology. Looking back Maths would have been an advantage, but I did Chemistry and Physics courses as part of my first year Geology degree at Uni. I know lots of people who did Geology at Uni with all sorts of different A Levels. Things might have changed in the last 9 years (like my waistline!). If you're unsure then phone a few of the geology departments at the universities you're interested in and ask what they require, also your careers adviser at school/college should be able to help. Don't be put of trying to get into a Geology degree thinking that it's all hard science because it's not, you can pick and choose alot of the courses to suit your interests - I did alot of physical geography courses. Good luck with your A levels.
