i know of someone who failed math 12 and became an accountant.

Nothin you did in high school matters.  The only thing that matters is how you do in college.  So if you failed it in high school, only take it as a reminder that you have to study very hard.

You'll have to take chemistry classes in college, and pass those, so it does matter. You need to understand the subject.
