  1. It depends on the university. More demanding ones (Oxford, Cambridge) want to know all of this information but focus more on A levels. Others may use predominently A level results but also AS and GCSEs, to differentiate between similar grading at A level.

  2. Depends on the competition for the places. A level first and if still too many applicants then GCSEs

  3. If your entry is based on UCAS points they will look at A Levels.

Basically GCSEs become less important as you progress and get different qualifications. If you have a few bad GCSEs but got the right amount of points, they won't hold it against you.

  4. yeahh they look at both.

and in recent times they look at how many times you have re-sat the exams and what you got in each resit.

  5. No one knows what you're talking about. THIS IS AMERICA!

  6. They look at both :)

  7. They will look at both but it depends. The universities will look at your GCSE and AS results and based upon them they will accept your application and make you an offer, or reject you. After you have been made an offer by a university GCSEs are no longer relevant.  If a university gives you an offer and you meet the required grades of the university you're in.

  8. No! They just look at the A level grades. GCSE's are nothing to worry about. They don't just look at the grades either, they look at the capability and what you are capable of. But however it will depend on what course you are doing. Ask your teacher or something, they should these things.

  9. They look at both, but obviously A Level is more recent and more important, so I think that's mostly what they look at. A couple of off grades at GCSE won't do any harm if you did great in your A Levels.

  10. It will mainly be done to your A level and As level results. But they wont actually look at the individual grades. They will go by points.

However, for a really competative course like some area of medecine they may look into your GCSE results also,
