  1. Nope, just female chick chick chick chick chickens :) c***s are also VERY noisy

  2. no you don't

  3. not at all - my daughter has two free range hens and they lay everyday

  4. you mean for breeding, or eggs to eat? Edible eggs are infertile; hens dont need a rooster to lay infertile eggs. If you want to breed your hens, you need a rooster.

  5. The male will stimulate the females to lay more and more often if he's around but you dont have to have him run with them, or have him at all its just better.

Though if your not wanting him because of Noise thats understandable the chickens will still lay.

  6. No, not necessarily. Although a cockerel is likely to bring on more eggs, you don't need one. I think.

  7. Nope. Chickens will lay a lot of eggs, with or without a male. You do need to have a male if you ever want to have chicks, though.

  8. ok so if you want to have eggs to eat then you dont need a male because chickens lay eggs without a male but they wont be fertalized. But if you get the male then the eggs will be fertalized and chicks will be born. hope this helps
