I'm use to go wild in a gym and usually burn about 500 calories in an hour and a half, but then my heart rate is at 170-180.

I heard that you should keep your heart rate between 120 and 150 if you want to loose weight? Is that true?

If I do keep my heart rate between 120 and 150 then I won’t burn as much calories.

What’s more important and easier if you want to loose maximum weight and not build muscle?

  1. Durantion and work = weight loss.  If you can sustain 170-180, then go for it.  But you can't for 90 minutes........ so, drop the rate to 130-140 and get a good fat burning 90 minute work out.
