If you want to round 7.046 to the nearest tenth, is it 7.0 or does the 6 change the 4 to a 5 so that it is 7.1

Shouldn't you take the entire number into account to round accurately which would mean it would be 7.1?? Please let me know, thanks!!!

  2. No you only look at the digit 4, not the subsequent digits after it.

    So 7.0499999 rounds to 7.0.

    7.0500000 rounds to 7.1.
