  1. There are medicines for that.  One of them is Bonamine, which you can take after you get seasick and it will help.  Try to stay in the fresh air, either amidships, or further aft - the movement of the boat will not be as bad - don't go to the bow of the ship - that is where the movement will be at its worst.  Watch the horizon, not the water - you need to re-establish the equilibrium in your inner ear to overcome the seasickness.  Best of luck.

  2. Yes, Dramamine, but also in an emergency Saltine Crackers will do the trick.

  3. Dramamine is the stuff you are thinking of.

  4. You do not have to be on a boat to be seasick. The real name for sea sickness is motion sickness and it is caused by the inner ear and that can happen on a boat, in a car or airplane or even on a ride at the park. There are several medicines that can and do work for motion sickness and Dramamines is just one of them. You can also get patches that you stick to your skin for long term medication. Your doctor can also give you something. Most people that get motion sickness on the water do so in small boats. The constant up-and-down motion unsettles the inner ear. It is rare for people to have motion sickness on a cruise ship because they are so big that simple wave action don’t shake them around much. If you don’t get carsick or motion sick on rides at the park then I doubt you will get seasick on a cruise liner. For your own peace of mind you can take a bottle of Dramamine along and take one pill every morning. It won’t hurt you and it will help settle your nerves even if your inner ear don’t need it.

  5. Dramamine - oral or the patch

The chance you do get seasick is pretty slim. Those big boats move very little when they get away from harbor. You will hardly notice it. My former mother-in-law was worried about it, but she has now been on multiple cruises with little or no trouble.
