  1. You know the old saying... there is no smoke without fire..!!

  2. Of course you would but could they claim it back should it be proved that he really was guilty of the crime.

  3. Yes for every penny.

  4. too right id want 8 Million, 1 million for every year.

  5. He probably was guilty of something.........

  6. you bet ye I would

  7. In situations like this the person who has been in Jail hardly ever wins as they were the victim of a miscarriage of justice but were sentenced by a licened court within UK law.  This means that the case against him was deamed (by a panel of jury) to be stronger than the case for his defence.  The fact that in the retrial some evidence was ommited due to technical reasons (the lack of proof the GSR came from the murder weapon) means his conviction was squashed due to lack of conclusive evidence.

He would not have a case against anyone as the charges were not fake and during the time in prison he was considered to be guilty 'beyong reasonable doubt', and therefore deserved to be in prison.  Its very complex but, he cannot sue for something that has legally happened through law (well niot easily at least.)

But if it was me I would be mighted pissed off. (assuming that he really is innocent...who knows...he might still be guilty)

  8. i would.. but no amount of money could give you back 8 wasted years..

  9.   sure would .

  10. I still think he is guilty

  11. Obviously...

  12. Not just the police.....

The police had pressure on them to get a conviction. As Barry George is obviously a little different and could not come up with an alibi, they made the facts of the case fit around his movements or whatever so he seemed to fit the crime.

I'd also expect the newspapers to contribute, as they were condemning him before the trial had started.

At least he isn't stalking children.

  13. Too right! He was used a scapegoat and they should pay out for what they put him through!!

  14. It goe's without saying....he's got a decent solicitor so i expect he will get what he deserves......

  15. I think he's entitled to something after having his life completely ballsed up.
