I would encourage their imaginations and talk to them about what they have seen

To myself, I'd consider it rubbish from the get-go. But if I had the time and resources to devote to it, I'd certainly look into it with them. I'd do this because if they honestly believe what they're saying, then in all likelihood they've probably misunderstood something or another and I'd want to explain a correct understanding of the situation to them.

However, some part of me would hold open the possibility - however remote - that they might possibly be telling the truth. I wouldn't waste any extraordinary amount of time on it (if we carefully & thoroughly investigated every absurd claim, we'd never get anything accomplished), but I'd be sensitive enough to their feelings that I wouldn't say or do anything to make them feel patronized or made a fool of.

Of course if they were just trying to play a joke on me, I'd laugh along with them when the joke came to fruition and then slowly, methodically begin to systematically plot my revenge.  muahahahahhhh...   ;-D

If aliens took over people's bodies they wouldn't be aliens any more, so what would there be to look at?

Hmmm. In the movies, I always get annoyed that the adults pay no attention to the kids announcing the crazy **** that just happened...

I'd ignore them until something weird happened. At that point I'm contacting Stephen Hawkings, Patrick Stewart and WIlliam Shatner, and we'll board a plane and fly to CERN in Geneva. Where the geniuses of the world unite. Muahahaha.

i would go along with it and just go and see. if they were lying, i would punish them. lol, jk. i would laugh, but i would tell them firmly but kindly not to do it again
