  1. With a smile and cheery voice..."Good evening!  How are you folks doing tonight? *wait for response* How many in your party tonight?"  That always worked for me, and hopefully set their mood for interacting with their waitress.

  2. ask them to spot you a 20 or at least a 10.  make them repeat their name hundreds of time over and over. say their name wrong. have you shirt out and unbuttoned. dont say anything to them for a long while when they enter the room or force them to step up to you. ask them one-word questions.

    You said make it memorable.

  3. SMILE.WELCOME THEM. COMPLIMENT THEM ON THEIR SMILE OR OUTFIT. OR SOMETHING TO MAKE THEM SMILE AND FEEL GOOD

  4. A great big Hello and a big smile on your face. People do not want to see a miserable person when they walk into a restaurant. And if it's not out of context, give them a compliment. Whether it would be their shirt or coat. But only if you're allowed to do it.

  5. Introduce yourself by name, like a friend.  People like to be recognized.

  6. Flash them.  I wouldn't forget!

  7. do not make them wait, smile, be polite and courteous

  8. If you are by the door open the door for them with a smile and by greeting them.

  9. Great them IMMEDIATELY with a smile, and get them to their table ASAP. Be sure the waitperson is right behind them to start with beverages.
