I was born in Argentina, and I'm going there for 3 months, I only have an American Passport but I'm worried that to leave Argentina when I come back, I'll need to get an Argentinian Passport.

  1. If you are an Argentinean Citizen, you need to enter on an Argentine passport.  Argentina has no problem with dual passport holders or dual citizenships, however, they do require that you enter and leave on the Argentinean passport.

If you are not an Argentine citizen and were simply born there to non-Argentine parents, you will not have a problem if you never claimed Argentine citizenship.

Also, if you were born to Argentine parents and subsequently renounced your Argentine citizenship formally to the embassy/consulate, etc. you can enter/exit on the US passport.

  2. I think you can only hold a passport from one country. If you have US citizenship, you'll just need the passport you have.

  3. If you enter Argentina with your USA Passport, therefore as an "USA citizen", you will need to exit the same way (with the USA Passport properly stamped with your lawful entry)

And NO argentinean document will be required from you.

But, remeber you are an "alien" NOT an argentinean citizen, therefore all Non-Resident laws apply to you.

You stay will be determined by the inmigration officer at the point of entry. If expires before you want to leave, will need to pay a USD50 tax to extend your stay.
