This would really be a personal choice, depending on what you like, and what suits your kitchen and budget.

I would choose what was most appropriate to my needs. If the style and look of stainless steel is what is most important to you, go for that. However, if you do a lot of cooking, are planning on having kids soon or already do, and need the volume of larger appliances, go for those in the less attractive design. If you go for the more functional white appliances now, you could always replace them later with stainless steel when you can afford it. Or you could splurge on the refrigerator and stove in stainless steel, and keep any other appliances in black or darker colors that complements the stainless things better than white, and replace them later if need be.
