  1. Being cross eyed (Strabismus) does create some issues with reading etc, as the cross eyed person will see double, eventually the brain will stop recognizing the image from one eye. If detected early enough it can be corrected.

Dyslexia is a learning disability, where the brain has problems with recognizing and processing the information it sees such as letters, numbers and symbols etc. Which in turn causes problems with reading, writing (dysgraphia), spelling, maths (dyscalculia) and all other aspects of learning. However dyslexic people are often very intelligent.

Having dyslexia and being cross eyed would most certainly cause some major issues with reading and writing.

Both my daughter and I are dyslexic, my daughter has dysgraphia as well, and we both have dyscalculia. We learnt strategies to cope/manage our dyslexia.

The top link under dyslexia shows what a dyslexic sees, when trying to read.

  2. I believe poster Georgie has said it all and correctly.  very wel informed, you should have your answer from that post.  it was excellent and you were given links to back it up, she/he deserves the 10 points!!!!  Kudos Goergie   but just in my own layman knowledge of dyslexia and being crossed eyed, I would have said no even before reading that post, it only makes sense that one has nothing to do with the other.  though I can see where one might think so.

  3. yes

  4. Being cross eyed doesn't have much to do with the ability to read except for the need of glasses.. Dylexia is a condition where you get the letters and words backwards and in the wrong place.  2 different conditions that have nothing to do with each other.

  5. No, you would not. Please research dyslexia. It has nothing to do with seeing things backwords/upsidedown. A silmple google search will tell you that. That is why glasses do not help dyslexia.
