  1. If it were being plugged into the 120v AC line, neither, unless i were ultraconservative. In that case, i would include a fuse.

  2. Neither if you are just taking a spur of the plug circuit which would be best,

    For your information, mains plugs in the U.K. are fitted with fuses.  

    Although fuses for them are available in ratings of 2, 3, 5 and 10A they are sold with a 13A fuse ready fitted.  (Quite stupid.)
