  1. No by the time you saw anything you would have gone through it days ago.

It sounds like a heck of a modification, does it fit a Saxo and can I get it from Halfords?

  2. You would see no beam infront of you as your speed would be matching that of the light from the lamps.

They would be useless !  lol

  3. the speed of light would be fine i think its faster than the speed of light you would get stuffed, and pulled over by police! ;-)

  4. First, you can't travel at the speed of light, relative to a particular frame of reference (e.g. the Earth), because it would take an infinite amount of energy to accelerate you to that speed.

However, if you were travelling at any sub-light speed, your headlights would work as normal, as far as you, the moving observer, were concerned. The light from them would propagate at c (the speed of light), because the speed of light is constant to all observers. This was postulated by Einstein in 1905 in his theory of special relativity.

  5. Surely it's relative.IF you were at the speed of light surely the headlights would emit radiation forward at(guess what)THE SPEED OF LIGHT RELATIVE TO YOU.hence you cannot travel at the speed of light.

  6. Travelling at the speed of light means you have turned into energy and therefore you would be the light!

  7. You can't go the speed of light; it's not theoretically possible.  If you could, you would have infinite mass and time would pass infinitely fast relative to everything else, so you would either appear to get to your destination in no time (in which case headlights would do no good), or the universe would become infinitely old in no time and your journey would have no destination because the universe would end.

If you were going nearly the speed of light (which is theoretically possible), even though from an outside observer your headlights would barely creep out from your car, from your perspective, it would appear that the light propagates out at normal light speed, due to the fact that your time reference has slowed down so much.  But the headlights would still be useless even though they would be propogating at the speed of light because objects in front of you would not only be coming at you at nearly the speed of light, but their distance would be forshortened--so everything would be very close in front of you and moving fast towards you, so that you'd have no time to react anyway.  And if you did have time to react, your mass would be so much increased by relativity that you would have a much more difficult time maneuvering around things--you'd just be a useless bullet.
