If you were going to have an allergy to hair dye, how long would it take to have it?

I dyed my hair and it's fine but my test patch on my skin came up with a rash, 3 days later - but has now gone down - it's very odd.

will i get a reaction it's been a day....?

  1. Hi,

    It may be due to any other reason like insect bite etc. Anyway to play it safe change the brand of the dye and keep an antihistamine tablet ready to deal with any unforeseen reaction.


  2. It's hard to say. Generally you should had a reaction straight away. But, it can depend on the person and the allergen. See your doctor for more information if you are worried. If you dye your hair and start feeling dizzy or having breathing difficulties get help immediately.  

  3. in my case,the chemical reaction came up with 2 weeks i got a itchy scalp,then my hairfall start  

  4. You might still get a reaction. Every person relates to allergies different. If you get hives or feeling like you can't breath or an itchy feeling or swelling call your doctor right away, those are all signs of an allergic reaction.

    My mom recently use a new dye and had an allergic reason to it a day later, she had to go to the hospital, so just keep a watch on any symptoms you might be having.
