  1. Depends on how much money you're ready to spend..

Athens may be a bit expensive.

I'd go to Berlin, Vienna, but above all Rome and Venice... Italy is splendid !

  2. I'd recommend: Rome and Florence, in Italy; Prague, in Czech Rep; and Krakow in Poland. If you have time to see something else, go to Switzerland -- I loved Luzern but haven't gone back there because of the language barrier... don't speak German and don't plan to learn it either.

The French countryside is very pretty as well, if you can go to Giverny, where Monet used to live.... a lovely day trip.

And if you want to go really farther.... fly up to Finland, I liked Helsinki very much and there's another town called Turku which is pretty as well.

  3. Paris is wonderful!  Have a great time!

I'd take a short trip over to London.  There is just so much to do!  I'd also visit Scotland - I love that place and the people are lovely there.

My friends really enjoyed Austria and Switzerland, and they said Belgium is all right.  I had a blast in Greece - Athens is nice and I love their architecture.  Try Italy, especially the Tuscany area.  Their food is to die for!

  4. London would be easy. From Paris it's only 2.5h to London by Eurostar train. A return ticket is about $120.

Air France sells tickets for all major cities in Europe between $120 to $200.

    But:

In January I would avoid the north of Europe. It's just too cold and dark. And winter is rather rainy in the southern parts too.

So anyway, it depends on what you like. Ireland has got a dense net of independent hostels. The wardens are among the nicest people I've ever met. After a long walk along the stormy west coast they welcome you with a cup of tea, scones and a open peat fire in their cosy cottage. Veeery relaxing after a hectic month in Paris. The temperatures in Ireland are rather moderate in winter. If you are going there, pay a visit to the Rainbow Hostel in Doolin.

Barcelona is one of the hippest cities in Europe nowadays. Granada is cool, too.

For snowboarding and skiing Austria would be perfect. Look out for Soelden..

Yes, and of course you could go to Venice, Florence, Rome, Athens, etc. But I think, it's best to visit them in spring.

Enjoy your trip, wherever you go.

  5. I would spend the 3 weeks travelling around the rest of France!  The south of France is beautiful, year round.  I love all of Provence all year round.  North to Brittany will be very cold in January, but the south will be mild.

  6. Rome, Heildberg or athens.

  7. england, switzerland,austria,poland,czech republic.

  8. Italy,here I come!!!

  9. Paris, Italy, Rome, Spain, Portugal... Everything it beautiful so dont be worried about where to go... just take the time to enjoy everything. I was just in Europe this summer for the first time. Remember to pack your camera (and camera card, i forgot mine) and bring toilet paper and hand sanitizer...they dont usually have soap in the bathrooms. Have a great time!

  10. Maybe a month will be long, no ? but you'll visit the suburbs (not all please, a lot are dangerous).

you only 2h to go to London by train (eurostar), you can go to Ireland, Wales and England by boat (by air its 45mn around), 1h to go to Brussel, Belgium by train (from paris), germany, italia, poland... are not far
