  1. I saw this done they played what they liked.  music is univeral party people will party to anything.

  2. Absolutely. I am having a Spanish/White wedding. I am 5th generation Hispanic and my FI is Czech/Jewish. I don't speak or understand Spanish very well, but my family does. We are playing some Cuban music-I love Buena Vista Social Club. We will probably play some  Mariachi and Salsa, too.

  3. I am 1/2 hispanic and 1/2 white. My soon to be husband was hispanic. I had a band that could play pop, country and mexican music.  My husband and I had an argument about it before, but I let him know that all sorts of people are going to be there. And how much fun it would be for all to be able to do this for them.

It was a great wedding, and in the end , yes, everyone had a great time. By the way, I got up during the reception to thank everyone "in person" for everything, so I wouldn't have to send out thank you notes. It worked out great.

  4. yes its a part of your culture and im sure they woudn't mind. mix it up play a little of everything its your wedding have fun. dont worry sooo much about what everyone thinks.

  5. syre

  6. YES! play spanish music!  it is fun and part of your culture.  Everyone will have a good time.

  7. I am mexican and my fiance is white.  He enjoys dancing mexican music. He thinks it will be fun to have his family dancing mexican music too.  We both want our families to have a good time.

If he doesn't, that should be sign that he's not open about your culture.

  8. i dont see why you woulnt! its part of who you are, and for your fiance to say no to that is kinda rude, but i doubt he meant it personally, men dont think too much into things sometimes.... he may be thinking of music like ricky martin or shaquira, which i would agree with him! but i do think u should play authentic spanish music, like salsas and tangos and what not. it would be fun, even if ppl didnt know how to do it!

  9. Yes, I would for sure play spanish music!

You need to think about yourself as well...its your wedding too.

Spanish music is beautiful, it brings out our culture and makes the party way more lively!

You just need to pick out some good songs or get a DJ.

You dont want to regret it later on.

  10. I don't think that it's rude, no. I can see how people get upset if they're the only people in the room who don't speak Spanish and everyone else is speaking it but them, but that's totally not the same thing as playing music in Spanish.

Maybe meet somewhere in the middle and have a couple of songs in Spanish, but the rest in english so everyone can get down. OR, just have a band play instrumentals and no spanish or english, so no one gets offended.
