  1. h**l no!  That is horrible horrible horrible!

  2. Not really the dead can't hurt you . Its the living you should worry about LOL

  3. to all the people who work in hospitals, how would you like it if someone brought a dead person to you in your bedroom for 7 hours.

we are talking about people, not a dead fly

  4. It didn't bother me and I was 12 years old at the time.

I saw my Mother in her coffin she looked sooo peaceful after a week of struggle.

SO no, dead bodies  give me the willies at all maybe my imagination isn't to avid

  5. i think it's worse to think that someone has died in the same bed that you are in

  6. When I was training as a nurse the ward I worked on for my general experience we often left patients in the bed for a while waiting for staff to lay the body out, porter to transport it etc. Yes we pulled the curtains round, but all the other patients knew what was happening.

Especially as we pulled theirs round them to take the body off the ward.

7 hours was a bit much though...

  7. I would be a bit sad about it, but it was the wish of the dead mans family. And I'm sure the staff had a lot of living people to deal with. I know it sounds bad but I'm sure the staff have a lot of horror stories to tell. I couldn't be a nurse.

    lol SM, me too!

  8. i would sit and chat away with it for hours,

nobody listens to what i say anyway :)

  9. Absolutely not! That would really upset me actually.

  10. Exactly as stormy says.  I worked in a hospital for 4 years, and also given the porters a fright by jumping out of the dead trolley.  I also worked in the mortuary, so don't get freaked out that much.  As stormy says, they always pull the curtains, which is a dead give away (pardon the pun), but, yes seven hours, is a bit much,

  11. I wouldn't be scared...i'd be praying for the soul to rest in peace. But, you're right, i'd rather pray from afar.

  12. It's not the dead people you need to worry about; it's the living that will harm you.

  13. its the living we need to worry about!

  14. my eyelids cannot be closed for sleep more than 2 hours - there will be a sudden jolt in the body and wake immediately.

  15. A dead body is merely a empty vessel, there's nothing to fear.

  16. Well it wouldnt be ideal but i guess we all have to accept death is something we all have to come to terms with. I dont think it was that scandalous to be honest, i mean it wasnt like it was a (and im sorry to be crude)  rotting corpse!

  17. It would probably freak me out a bit, especially if I was confined to the bed for whatever reason so there's no way I get away

Plus my imagination tends to run wild, I'd probably lie there imagine all these stupid things like it getting up and pulling the curtains back

  18. A dead body is nothing but an empty shell, it can't hurt you in any way so no I don't think it would freak me out. Seven hours is a long time though, perhaps they could have moved the body somewhere else while they waited for the relative to arrive.

  19. No I  would not like it , you are referring to the incident in a Glasgow hospital where it is reported a man was left propped up in bed having passed away at 11am and was left there until 7pm the excuse from the staff was that the gentlemans relatives had asked for him to remain on the ward until they were able to get to the hospital.Whether or not the relatives did make a such a request it is I find it totally unforgivable that this incident was allowed to take place,The deceased patient should have been moved to the chapel or if not the mortuary there should be a plce where relatives can see a patient after death in all circumstances if not the chapel or morg then a room suitable for viewing Since when have hospital respected the requests of patients families never to my knowledge, what about the deceased persons dignity or is that not worth a jot because he had died.what about respect for those patients on the ward? I truly believe this was an unprofessional inhuman act on the part of the staff and until we stop treating doctors and nurses as "special professionals " things like this will continue .I believe those responsible for this incident should be disciplined I mean the stafff  on the ward I also believe the hospital manager should be sacked only when people are made to pay for their misdeeds will we get a professional service.Mistakes are one thing this was not a mistake it was a disgraceful decision and someone made that decision and should pay with their job.Time to stop accepting unprofessional behaviour from the so called caring profession.

  20. Happened to me two yeras ago in Spain.....It was a little weird but as you say they can't hurt you....It was a little after midnight when he died and they remove his body in the morning...The weird part was that there was only me and him sharing the ward but he did have a carere with him

  21. It wouldn`t bother me at all and never has when I have been in close proximity to a dead body..

  22. It would concern me from a hygene point of view.  If it was a hot day, it might start smelling and attracting insects.

  23. Not really. I did watch a guy opposite me die however, and it was not a pretty sight. I was the last person he spoke to. An hour later he was gone. He was a lovely fella as well.

  24. Three football fans were driving along when they spied a body in the

undergrowth. Stopping their car, the three guys ran over to see what

they could do. Unfortunately, they found the nude body of a deceased

    young woman.

Being gentlemen, the first guy dropped his Spurs hat over one breast.

The second guy, a Liverpool fan, placed his hat over the other breast.

The Manchester United fan then placed his hat over the woman's very

    private part.

Soon the police arrived. The coroner started checking over the body.

He picked up the Spurs hat and quickly placed it back. He then picked

up the Liverpool hat and returned it. Then he picked up the Man United

Fan hat, put it down, then picked it up again inspecting the hat more

closely, and then put it down. Then he picked it up a third time.

By this time, the Man United fan was a bit irritated and he asked,

"Why do you keep picking up that hat? Are you some kind of pervert or

    something?"

The coroner responded with a wry smile, "Son, I can't figure this one

out. Usually when I come across one of these Man United hats, there's

    an arsehole under it."

  25. No, I think you have more to fear from the living than the dead.

  26. It would really feel strange but I guess the family if this dead person realy wanted to see his face one more time.   I see both sides.

  27. yes but then i am a raging necrophiliac

  28. I doubt it would concern me at all although i probably wouldn't swear out of respect.

  29. Hi Mrs S, i think that is so disturbing and sad for everyone concerned.

All this needed was a room away from the ward...very sad that this poor man was not afforded the dignity he deserved.

  30. Helll noo, thats a deffinate no no.

It's gross, and wouldn't it start to smell?

    Yukk

  31. Part of life is learning to accept death and if there is no odor or health threat then so be it. I'm sure the bodies are removed as soon as possible and then the beds are cleaned. Perhaps with the economic crunch in the hospital system the cleansing is not what it used to be but we can only hope the right thing is done. I know one of my children was exposed to TB in the hospital and the staff was very indifferent about it until I raised a stink.
