If you were invited to a party that starts at 7 pm, what time would you plan to arrive?

If you were the host, when would you anticipate the bulk of the invitees would arrive?

Cocktail party?  about 15-30 mins late

All night party?  depends on the guest - early for those who have to leave early, and for those who are hitting > 1 party at a time; late for those who don't like the early hours of a party before everyone gets sauced and friendly; or who are hitting your party second

I like to be on time so I would hope to get there at 7.  Depending on how well I know the people I would be there at 7.  If I don't know them too well, I wouldn't want to be the first to arrive, so I would be there 7:10 or 7:15.

I usually arrive 15 minutes late, unless the host is a close friend, then I show up a little early.

For the host, the majority of guests will show up within the first 30 minutes of the party.  Rarely do any show up early.  About 10% of guests will show up later than 30 minutes.

If there's a cocktail hour, I would arrive half an hour in.  Otherwise, I'd get there on time.

Well, it depends on what country, state, town you live in.

We have Haitian friends and you tell them to be at a party at 7 p.m., they show up at 10 p.m.

So, tell someone 7 and they might show up at 8.

If you want people to show up at 7, tell them that the party starts at 6. I am always on time and I have tried not to be so I go 15 to 30 minutes past the requested time of arrival.

Iwould plan to arrive around 15mins late, and if i was a host i would generally expect guests from ten miutes late and onwards. And if it had been an hour and there were no guests then i would start to ponder....!

so if i was and invitee, then i would arrive like at 7:30. or if i am aclose friend id probably get there before 7. so base the time that people may arrive between 7:15 and 7:30 or maybe 8.
