Thanks for the answers so far. I hear it's quite expensive to live there, especially the accommodation. What are the better areas to live in? And the public transport is it expensive?

  1. As I live a 20 minute train journey from London, I doubt it.

  2. Not for a £1,000,000!!!! No way. Dirtiest, rudest, most overcrowded place I have ever had the misfortune to visit.

  3. NO - I will stay up in Scotland, we are nicer people.

  4. I am happy to move anywhere in the world to work. London should be a doddle- it's got to be the right job though, ie, a translating position, I'm not moving to London to sweep floors or anything... mind you, how bad can it be? When do I start?

  5. Well, certainly. It'd be kind of hard living in California and taking a plane to work everyday. Or I'd just not take the job of course.

  6. I think in this day in age it is easy enough to commute to London, and often the more sensible answer. The area to suit you would depend on the type of accommodation you require.

  7. h**l yeah, its the best city in the world!

West London is the best! Shepherds Bush baby!

Yeah Public Transport is expensive and rubbish, but that's life.

  8. If you don't mind a commute, you could move to Metroland... anywhere north of Moor Park on the Metropolitan Line basically.  Its very nice up here, all countryfied as it is.

  9. Yes.

London is a great cosmopolitan city and I have lived here for more than 10 years.

Don't believe the stories you hear about London.

The determining factor should be the job.

Do you like the job enough to move to London?

If the job is worth it, then move.

Do remember that there are lots of jobs in London, so while here you can network your way into a much better job.

    Hope that helps.
