If you were starting an NFL franchise.....?

and you could pick one offensive weapon and one defensive weapon to start it out, who would they be? Now remember, this is a franchise so age does come into factor. Also, give me some good reasons why as well.

Building a franchise for the future?

Offense - Ben Roethlisberger, he's not exactly my favorite player, but he is only 26 and has another 8 or 9 years of success.  He was the youngest QB to win a super bowl, and last year he proved he can throw +30 TDs and lead his offense down the field under pressure.

Defense - Mario Williams, he will become a +15-20 sack player for the next 10 years that OLs have to double-team.

Offensive Weapon- QB Colt Brennan, has great arm and if given three or four decent recievers, and a running back he could succeed

Defensive Weapon- DE Justin Tuck, great pass-rusher

ELI HAS PROVEN TO PLAY AGAINST THE BEST AND UNDER PRESSURE IN NEW YORK.. RUSSELL HAS A CANNON FOR MY FAVORITE THE VERTICAL PASS... HE ISNT AS CLOSE AS THOSE ESPN CRITICS"" IN 300LBS.. REMEMBER HE IS 6-6 AND IS HARD TO BRING DOWN..WITH A GOOD O-LINE THIS 2 KIDS CAN BOTH MAKE MIRACLE PLAYS AND BOTH HAVE THE SKILLS TO SHINE..

I CAN ALWAYS SELECT A CORNER/DT/ILB ..ETC..

BUT I FEEL, THAT IF YOU PRESSURE THE QB ON EVERY PLAY, HE WILL BE FORCED INTO TAKING A SACK OR TURNING THE BALL OVER..

MY PICK - DERRICK "THE SACK" BURGESS.. FROM 16-12- TO 8 LAST YEAR WITH ONLY 9 GAMES PLAYED..PRO BOWLER..  WHICH DOESNT HAVE TO FACE THE BEST LT IN THE GAME.. BECAUSE HE EATS THE RT ALL DAY LONG..

offense adrian peterson- an all out explosive player that can do it all at the running back position he can catch run jump do just about everything . he is also 23 so he would be around for a while

defense- its a tough desicion but i would have to say bob sanders  the colts he is a great saftey that is insanly fast
